What are the Scottish Rite degrees like?

The Scottish Rite degrees are plays, often staged with costumes, scenery, special effects, and the full rigging of a dramatic production. Their purpose is to present Masonic philosophy so that men might understand the reason and purpose of life, and thereby gain the knowledge and inspiration to better themselves and society.

These degrees are not meant to tell a Mason what he should think about the philosophical and ethical themes they introduce, but instead try to inspire Brothers to gain their own unique insight.

Eligible degree candidates and Scottish Rite Masons can witness degrees by attending a Valley Reunion or by scheduling a Rite on the Road degree viewing with their local Valley secretary.
