Brother George T. Taylor, IV, 32°, Director of Membership and Valley Relations

Ill. David A. Glattly, 33°, Sovereign Grand Commander, is pleased to announce that Brother George T. Taylor, IV, 32°, has been promoted to Director of Membership and Valley Relations. He served as Associate Director of the department since September 2017.

Said Grand Commander Glattly, "Bro. Taylor has deployed the full complement of his professional skills to help grow, retain, and service the Scottish Rite membership. He truly has captured the pulse of the membership in a way we have not done previously. He is beloved in the field, having traveled far and wide throughout the jurisdiction in the past 18 months. From creating a fantastic new member kit, to overhauling communications with Valley leadership and staff, George is most deserving of this promotion. When you next see him, please extend George warm congratulations on his new role."

During his time on the Supreme Council Staff, Brother Taylor has traveled throughout the jurisdiction to dozens of Valley, state, and national events. Through that, he was able to bring back and present many different perspectives from the field that have influenced our operations at headquarters. Many of the programs that are being implemented now, or are in the pipeline, are a compilation of ideas from our Valleys.

In his role as Director of Membership, George will continue his focus on advocating for members, enhancing the membership experience by working with Valley and state leadership to implement member recognition programs, attending Valley and special events, and provide direction in the recruitment, retention, and restoration efforts for the Jurisdiction.

He said, “I am excited for this opportunity to continue my passion for this Fraternity, which has influenced my life going back to my days as an Active DeMolay. I look forward to sharing the Scottish Rite experience, meeting more of our Brothers, and making this an organization that people want to join.”

Bro. Taylor is a fourth generation Master Mason, raised in St. John's Lodge #2, New Castle, Delaware. He is a Senior DeMolay from Delaware where he is a member of Newport Chapter and a founding member of Wilmington Chapter. He was a Jurisdictional Officer, received his Chevalier Degree, PMC-MSA, and Blue Honor Key during his time as an active member. He received the degrees of the Scottish Rite in 2017, and is a member of the Valley of Wilmington.

When asked about his new role, Bro. Taylor said, "Throughout my life, I have been a part of the Masonic Fraternity and have seen the tremendous impact it has on its members, their families, and the community. Positive relationships are the key to the success of individuals and organizations. I am looking forward traveling the country and building relationships in the Scottish Rite Valleys."

Bro. Taylor joined the Supreme Council staff after serving as the Associate Director of Alumni Involvement at Lambda Chi Alpha International Fraternity, in Indianapolis, IN. While there, he oversaw the growth of alumni involvement and engagement as well as developed programming for the organization's more than 200,000 alumni. He managed the recruitment and training of 1,400 alumni advisers and volunteers working at nearly 200 chapters across North America.

Prior to his role at Lambda Chi Alpha, Bro. Taylor spent several years in the financial services sector working for ING Direct's IT Department focusing on operational efficiencies on the mergers and acquisition team. He also worked with Capital One Finance as a project manager during the merger of ING Direct.

Bro. Taylor received a BS in Business Administration from High Point University in High Point, NC. He continues to serve his alma mater sitting on the Alumni Association Board of Directors, and the Career & Internships Committee.
