We did it. We met our goal of raising over $233,000 on Giving Tuesday to provide aid to Masonic families in need. Last night, the Scottish Rite, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction hosted their first-ever telethon on Giving Tuesday, November 27th from 7-9pm, and let’s just say that we are beaming with pride.

We are proud of our Brothers for granting financial aid to those that need it the most. We are proud of the greater membership for taking pride in being a part of something bigger than themselves. And we are proud of the community we have built and how much positive work we can do when we work together. Yesterday we banded together for great causes that need our support, and we also had fun in the process of giving back. Here’s a recap of the very special evening:

Sr Telethon

Lights. Camera. Give Back!

The phones were ringing off the hook as Masons across the country called in to donate and participate in the momentum of Giving Tuesday. From the moment our host Michael Russell said “welcome” to the final celebration when we reached our goal, the Giving Tuesday telethon was filled with action. In the span of just two hours, we had calls from members, surprise special guests, musical performances, live interviews, heartfelt videos, and the launch of a new tier of giving back: The White Flower Society. With over 400 call-in donations, the day raised a total of $238,168 for Scottish Rite charities such as The White Flower Society, The Scottish Rite Museum and Library, The Grand Almoner’s Fund, The Abbott Scholarships, and The Children’s Dyslexia Centers.

Special guests were in attendance such as Sovereign Grand Commander Dave Glattly, first lady Monica Glattly and Grand Master of New York, Bill Sardone. Host Michael Russell kept the night moving along with raffle drawings, donation updates, and a fun surprise at the end with confetti and party poppers to celebrate not only reaching, but surpassing our goal. This telethon marks the first of many amazing Giving Tuesday telethons and giving back events for years to come. The Scottish Rite, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction will always focus on the value of service and put our efforts into helping our Brothers and Masonic families during trying times.
