Reclaiming the Soul of Freemasonry

Reclaiming the Soul of Freemasonry, by John Wm. McNaughton, 33°, Past Sovereign Grand Commander of the Scottish Rite, NMJ, is a data-driven, clear, yet hopeful view of the state of Freemasonry and its future. The book presents the results of the most comprehensive study of Freemasonry and the Scottish Rite conducted in more than 20 years. Commander McNaughton presents survey and research findings that quantify the problems facing the fraternity and ways to address our most serious issues.

All proceeds from the book will go to the Grand Almoner’s Fund to help our Brothers and their families in need.

The Spirit of Freemasonry

The Spirit of Freemasonry – Book, by Kamel Oussayef - For Shipments to the US and Canada only

This annotated translation of a French manuscript (circa 1804) is divided into 12
Chapters that can be read in any order. They deal with various Masonic subjects that
might seem exotic, strange and even bizarre to us in the 21 st century.

The document contains 225 beautifully calligraphed pages and four symbolic drawings
hand-painted with shimmering colors.

The book, and more particularly its footnotes, will cast a brighter light on Masonic texts,
symbols, rituals, definitions, secret alphabets and calendars that up to now were
thought to be difficult for the uninitiated to comprehend.

Some of these writings are dissertations on the history or philosophy of humankind.
Others are fascinating descriptions of old rituals that, by now, have totally been
transformed to suit the contemporary mind.

To our delight and surprise, more trivial topics were included such as, the protocol of a
“Table Lodge”. It is clearly described and its strange origin and vocabulary are
explained. To the initiated, “firing a cannon loaded with strong red powder” simply
means “to drink a glass of red wine”. Enjoy… the book without moderation!

The Badge of a Freemason - Book

Masonic Aprons from the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library - By Aimee E.Newell, Former Director of Collections

Called “the badge of a Freemason” in Masonic ritual, the fraternity’s apron was adapted from the protective aprons worn by working stonemasons during the 1600s and 1700s. Still worn by members today, the apron remains one of the iconic symbols of Freemasonry. This catalogue presents more than 100 aprons from the Scottish RiteMasonicMuseum & Library collection with full-color photographs and new research. The aprons are organized chronologically to help demonstrate their evolution in shape, style and materials from the eighteenth century through the twentieth century.

This lavishly illustrated volume offers stories to be enjoyed by Freemasons around the world, as well as new ways to understand these aprons for scholars, researchers and museum curators. The Badge of a Freemason is the first in-depth study of American Masonic aprons published in recent decades and is a fascinating resource for collectors, enthusiasts and Freemasons.
