On June 21, the Scottish Rite, NMJ hosted a lively panel discussion of Masons of different ages in a livestream called “Generation to Generation, Exploring the Ageless Bonds of Freemasonry”. The event – part of a recently-launched series of livestreams that explore different topics in Freemasonry – brought together men from all walks of life, with unique perspectives about their time in the fraternity. Brother Samuel J. Newland moderated the night and Ill. Brother Robert C. Schremser, 33°, Brother Peter C. Grimm, Brother Chris Gray, and Brother Evan Reseska participated in the panel. The audience had the chance to ask their questions in real-time in the webinar chatroom and engage with one another in a live conversation.
The night’s conversation started with each Brother explaining his Masonic origins, discussing when they discovered Freemasonry and how they integrate the teachings into their lives. The Brothers touched upon topics ranging from generational differences, the future of Freemasonry as a whole, recruitment of younger members and how the values of Freemasonry affect their families, jobs, and daily activities. The livestream conversation was insightful and evoked an open dialogue around an inclusive vision of Freemasonry, as well as shed light on current issues being faced by the organization.
