For the first time, the Scottish Rite, NMJ hosted “A Night of Charity” with a live audience at Supreme Council headquarters in Lexington, MA. And it was a full house! Taking place on Giving Tuesday, November 29th, the event, broadcast live throughout the NMJ, featured online and silent auctions, live entertainment, stories from those we helped through our charities, a live telethon, and more!

Throughout the evening, we heard from those impacted by our charities.
We reflected on the 10-year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy and the life-changing impact of Grand Almoner’s Fund through our Three Stories video. The stories of Buck, Joyce, and Frank never fail to move our souls.
We also heard from Brother Eric Walsh, who shared how the Grand Almoner’s Fund lifted him up after a cascade of illness and life-altering surgeries. Hear his story in the video here.
Silent Auctions and Live Entertainment
The audience enjoyed music and fun activities including, live entertainment from the band, Sudden Relic.

Throughout the event, we offered silent and online auctions as another way for members to and give back. A coveted auction item came from Sovereign Grand Commander Peter J. Samiec, 33°, who shared beautifully framed nature photographs from his personal portfolio.

Later in the evening, viewers at home and in Lexington and were treated to a lively Paul Revere impersonation by Michael LePage, a historian and colonial interpreter at Boston’s Paul Revere House.

The Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library Unveils Five New Inductees to the Masonic Hall of Fame
During the event, The Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library unveiled five new inductees to their Masonic Hall of Fame Exhibition. The inductees, Harry Houdini, Paul Revere, Thurgood Marshall, The Mayo Brothers, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, join the Museum & Library’s roster of extraordinary Freemasons who have left their mark on our country and our world.

Recognizing Our Children’s Dyslexia Centers
Since 1994, the Scottish Rite, NMJ has proudly supported the work of our 40+ Children’s Dyslexia Centers (CDC) across the jurisdiction. Navigating disruptions in learning over the last several years as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the CDC never missed a beat in providing students struggling with dyslexia the support they need.
The Children’s Dyslexia Centers of Maine provided an update featuring current and former students, their parents, and the staff. The video clearly shows the impact of the CDC and how much our support matters to a child’s future.
Presenting the Harry S. Truman Award
The Supreme Council presented the Harry S. Truman Award to Lynda Pinaud, Center Director of the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Greater Boston. Lynda dedicated nearly three decades of service to our CDC program and to the countless children and families she helped. Lynda began working at the first Greater Boston Center in 1993 and is still working at the center today!
