In celebration of International Friendship Day, discover Brothers’ stories of friendship forged through the Scottish Rite, NMJ.
“Illustrious Brother Fred Kile, 33° and Illustrious Brother Ebby Brewer, 33° have been both close friends and mentors throughout my Masonic and Scottish Rite years. Most of who you meet in your Scottish Rite travels are a friend and Brother for life.” - Illustrious Brother Stephan Markley, 33°, from the Valley of Columbus
The Scottish Rite, NMJ is proud to offer Masons the opportunity to forge meaningful connections through our shared commitment to the Craft and our six Core Values. Join us in celebrating International Friendship Day by reading the stories of friendship your Brothers have shared with Supreme Council.
Illustrious Brother Steve Morrison, 33°
Ill. Bro. Morrison has met some of his best friends through the Scottish Rite. With these Brothers, he formed a cast to present the 26th degree at the Valley of Philadelphia and inspired his sons to join Freemasonry – one of whom is now a Scottish Rite Mason. His friendship with his Brothers, while forged through Freemasonry, now extends beyond their Masonic duties. They socialize together with their spouses, who have also formed meaningful friendships.
Brother Mark Catron, 32°
Brother Mark Catron, 32°, has made many friends through the Scottish Rite. He is most grateful to the Valley of Danville for coordinating many extracurricular activities throughout the year, allowing him to connect with Brothers and their families in between Reunions!
Illustrious Brother Craig Kennedy, 33°
Illustrious Brother Kennedy, 33°, from the Valley of Springfield has forged many friendships throughout his 40-plus years as a Scottish Rite Mason. He cherishes his more recent friendship with Dr. Wayne C. Temple, 33° – a World War II veteran with countless stories and wisdom to share from his 100 years of age.
In addition to the friendships with Brothers he’s forged, Brother Kennedy has enjoyed spending quality time with his family members at Scottish Rite events. His father, brother, sons, and nephew are all a part of our Brotherhood. His youngest son has even gotten involved with Thursday Night Rite, helping with stage work for the 26th degree recording in June.
Adam Babicz, 32°
“I am very grateful that I met such beautiful minds in my life. Thank you, Brethren!”
Brother Adam Babicz from the Valley of Chicago was introduced to the Craft and Scottish Rite back in 2003 by Illustrious Brother Howard Graff while accomplishing his postgraduate studies. He got to know great Brothers who he is still in touch with and is grateful for their continued friendship.
