When does Thursday Night at the Rite (TNR) take place?

Thursday Night at the Rite operates on a seasonal schedule. Each season showcases six degrees every other Thursday evening. Season 7 just wrapped on April 15, 2026 .

Who is invited to attend TNR?

All members of the Scottish Rite, NMJ are invited to attend Thursday Night at the Rite. Candidates who become initiated into our fraternity through a Join the Rite Night are also immediately eligible to view the degrees presented in that evening’s Thursday Night at the Rite broadcast, and all episodes thereafter.

How long is each TNR presentation?

TNR presentations typically last between 40 to 60 minutes.

Can I invite non-Scottish Rite Masons to Thursday Night at the Rite?

In order to keep the degrees secure, only members of the Scottish Rite, NMJ may attend TNR.

If I join the Scottish Rite through a Join the Rite Night, can I also witness that evening’s TNR degree?

Yes! All candidates who witness the 4° during a Join the Rite Night will be initiated into our fraternity and immediately eligible to enjoy all of the benefits available to members, including Thursday Night at the Rite. We highly encourage new members to stay online immediately after Join the Rite Night for that evening’s degree presentation.

How do I view the TNR presentations?

No pre-registration is required to tune in to Thursday Night at the Rite, but you will need a Member Center account set up in advance in order to access these gated, members-only TNR presentations. Are the degrees I witness through TNR available for passport credit?

Yes! After each event, you can update your degree history by logging into your Journey365 account and clicking “My Degree History.” The next time you visit your Valley, you can also stop by the Secretary’s desk for a stamp of that degree for your physical passport.If you have not set up a Journey365 account in the Member Center you can create one at any time. Watching our degree presentations at Thursday Night at the Rite is a great way to bring your Valley together. For tips on how to host a viewing party with your Brethren, read our blog.

Click "Member Center" in the top right corner of the Scottish Rite, NMJ website. That will take you directly to the login page, where you will enter your username and password. Once entered, you will be redirected to your Member Center Dashboard. At the top of your dashboard, click the green button in the Thursday Night at the Rite banner. What is Thursday Night at the Rite (TNR)?

What was envisioned to be a temporary solution has evolved into a cherished member event. Over 1,000 members have joined us online since the inception of Thursday Night at the Rite in April of 2020.

Supreme Council invites members from across our 15-state jurisdiction to gather online bi-weekly to watch one of our inspiring degree productions. Each degree presentation allows members to connect with and learn from each other as they continue along their path towards more light.

The Scottish Rite, NMJ expands on the degrees of the Blue Lodge, offering the 4°-32°. Our Thursday Night at the Rite events rotate through these degrees with the exception of the 32°, which is reserved for special celebratory events and in-person Reunions. Each TNR degree presented is eligible for passport credit.

Our production team takes great measures to bring a one-of-a-kind, cinematic experience to each presentation, traveling onsite to various Valleys to film the degrees live. These productions are far beyond a home video, capturing the unique attributes that each Valley's presentation offers.

Join the Rite Night

As a prequel to every Thursday Night at the Rite, we offer an online joining opportunity known as Join the Rite Night, which allows accepted Master Masons to jumpstart their journey to the 32° through an online initiation event.

Candidates witness the 4°: Builder (a requisite for becoming a Scottish Rite member), and meet and interact with fellow Brothers and NMJ leaders throughout the evening.

Masters of the Rite

Masters of the Rite (MOTR) is an educational supplement to Thursday Night at the Rite (TNR).

Guided by Illustrious Brother Sandy Karstens III, MOTR occurs monthly during each TNR season and offers members the opportunity to further delve into each degree showcased at TNR and discuss its teachings.
