award winning journey on campaign

The Scottish Rite, NMJ celebrates three awards for “Journey On.” Learn more about the prestigious awards this campaign was recognized for and what it means to our fraternity.

The Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction is pleased to share that our newest anthemic campaign, Journey On, has been honored with three awards distinguishing the campaign’s seven videos and accompanying materials as marketing excellence.

Journey On has won a Gold Medal from the 2022 MarCom Awards and a Silver Medal from the Davey Awards.

The MarCom Awards is one of the largest, most-respected creative competitions in the world. They honor excellence in marketing and communication while recognizing the creativity and hard work of industry professionals. Judges from the MarCom Awards consisted of marketing, communication, advertising, and public relations professionals.

Amidst more than 6,000 entries, the Scottish Rite, NMJ was selected for two awards celebrating our Journey On Anthem video and accompanying print campaign SRNMJ was recognized for its success in “reclaiming what it means to be a Scottish Rite Mason” and “inspiring members to reconnect with the Journey.” This recognition places the Scottish Rite alongside other notable brands such as AARP, UnitedHealth Group, and Cal Poly Pomona Foundation.

The campaign was also honored by The Davey Awards. These awards are judged by The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms. The panel included experts from the likes of Conde Nast, Disney, MTV and Microsoft. Our suite of Journey On assets were selected for the Scottish Rite’s excellence in building an integrated marketing campaign focused on “ideas, not a stratospheric budget”.

These achievements reflect another milestone in our Path Forward initiative, demonstrating our progress and success in elevating the Scottish Rite member experience and engaging our Brethren to reflect on what it means to be a Scottish Rite Freemason today.

“Journey On'' was created to capture the essence of what it means to be a 32° Scottish Rite Mason. It stands as a reminder of the pride and confidence that comes from living in a harmonious Brotherhood, and dedicating oneself to a life centered around our Core Values,” Sovereign Grand Commander Peter J. Samiec, 33°, shared. “Journey On reflects not only the continuation of a man’s exploration of the Craft, but the advancement of our Path Forward efforts. I’m proud that our fraternity continues to be a strong voice for Freemasonry, made evident through these prestigious recognitions.”

The campaign is brought to life through an anthemic video, Journey On, and six complementary videos that reflect on the six Core Values of the Scottish Rite. Brother James Dill, 33°, Director of Support Services and a key contributor to the production of Journey On, shared “Our hope for the Journey On videos was to not only inspire Masons to reconnect with the fulfillment that comes from seeking more light, but to also demonstrate what it really means to live by our six Core Values. Our intention with the six Core Value vignettes was to show that being a Scottish Rite Freemason is not about grandiose gestures, but about doing the right thing in the small, quiet moments of our day to day lives. I’m proud that we were able to accomplish this and that our work is being recognized by some of the top creative minds of today.” This production of this campaign allowed us to show the deeper meaning behind Journey On. In our behind the scenes video, you get to hear what Scottish Rite, NMJ means to each of these men.

In addition to seven videos, Journey On also includes over 25 campaign concepts made available for print, social media, and personal use. Each concept aims to show not only the diversity and caliber of men that belong to the Scottish Rite, NMJ, but also how the fraternity can help Master Masons continue their quest for self-improvement. Linda Patch, Director of Marketing & Communications and lead on the Path Forward initiative shares “There’s a world of men out there that are looking for their identity group, their tribe to belong to. We hope with this campaign that people are able to see how the Scottish Rite, NMJ lives up to their promise of helping men become better versions of themselves. These awards show how impactful the Journey On campaign is in delivering this message.”
