Delve Deeper Into Scottish Rite Degrees: Live Workshop
The Scottish Rite degrees expand our connection to the principles and ideals of the Craft. And now, we're offering a new way to dive even deeper.
This year, we launched our new degree enrichment program, Masters of the Rite (MOTR), an educational supplement to Thursday Night at the Rite (TNR). During Season 6 of TNR, Illustrious Brother Sandy Karstens guided Brothers through an inspiring workshop on the degrees presented. The final MOTR program aired on March 20 and is available on demand for a limited time.
Register below to access the final episode of Masters of the Rite, a discussion of the 24°, Brother of Tolerance.
Open to Scottish Rite, NMJ members only.
Meet Your Host:
During this pilot season, Ill. Brother William “Sandy” Karstens IV, 33° will be hosting each Masters of the Rite session. Hailing from the Valley of Burlington (VT), Brother Karstens boasts an impressive resume that makes him well-equipped to guide Brothers through the intricacies and lessons of Scottish Rite degrees.
He has spent the majority of his career as a physics professor at St. Michael’s College where he also served as chair of the Department of Chemistry and Physics, as well as president of the college’s Phi Beta Kappa chapter and of the Vermont Chapter of Sigma Xi, the scientific research society.
In Freemasonry, Brother Karstens’s leadership is well known. He was raised in Washington Lodge #3 in Williston, VT in 2004 and received his 32° that same year at the Valley of Vermont. In 2010, he was coroneted with the 33° in Philadelphia.
