The Scottish Rite, NMJ announces the return of its bi-weekly online degree broadcast, Thursday Night at the Rite (TNR).
Thursday Night at the Rite is returning for its sixth season, bringing a new on-demand feature and lesser-seen degrees for Brothers to enjoy.
The Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction is pleased to announce the return of Thursday Night at the Rite (TNR) in 2025! What is Thursday Night at the Rite?
TNR is the Scottish Rite, NMJ's beloved degree broadcast program, offering bi-weekly online degree presentations. These events provide Brothers with an opportunity to experience degrees in between Reunions or serve as an alternative for those who are unable to travel to in-person degrees presentations.
Designed to foster connection, learning, and continued growth on the path toward more light, TNR has become a cherished tradition that embodies our fraternity’s commitment to enlightenment and fellowship.
"There is not much on TV or in movies that would have entertained or inspired more than that presentation!" - Tim Wiley, 32°, Valley of Akron
What truly makes TNR unique is our commitment to delivering a cinematic experience like no other. Our dedicated production team travels to Valleys throughout the jurisdiction to film live degree presentations. Each production captures the unique traditions and essence of the presenting Valley, transforming the degree into an immersive experience that goes far beyond a home video. This approach allows you to feel as though they are right there in the room, taking in the full spectacle of the Masonic ritual.
While nothing can fully replace the magic of our in-person Reunions, TNR provides a meaningful Masonic experience for which hundreds of Brothers from across the jurisdiction tune in.
As an added benefit, degrees witnessed online during TNR are available for passport credit.

To ensure our degrees are kept secure, only Scottish Rite, NMJ members can attend TNR. To join us for TNR, simply visit https://tnr.scottishritenmj.org at the event start and log in with your member ID to watch.

What's New for Season Six
The Supreme Council is committed to giving you the best, most meaningful degree experience possible. To that end, we have listened to your feedback and are excited to announce two highly-requested features for season six:
Degrees On-Demand: Members will now have access to each degree presentation on-demand for one full week after its initial airing. This new feature provides every Brother the flexibility to watch at a convenient time, accommodating various schedules and time zones.
Lesser-Seen Degrees: Season six will feature lesser-seen degrees, such as the newly revamped 24° - Brother of Tolerance (formerly known as Brother of the Forest) and the 12° - Master of Mercy, providing you with the opportunity to continue filling your degree passports with presentations not frequently exemplified.
Most importantly, each TNR event will include opportunities for you to come together with your Brothers for fraternal fellowship and reflection on the degrees presented.
Host a Viewing Party
Thursday Night at the Rite is designed to make seeking light accessible from anywhere, and it’s also the perfect opportunity to bring your Valley Brothers together to connect.
