When Brethren gather with purpose, extraordinary things happen. This fall, the Grand Lodge of Ohio hosted a full Masonic Weekend in Springfield—and it serves as an inspiring example for all of us across the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction.
This initiative from Grand Master Bill Carter, 33° combined fellowship, education, ritual, and celebration into one powerful experience. From engaging workshops to a festive banquet, every detail was designed to strengthen the bonds of Brotherhood and showcase the best of Freemasonry.
The results speak for themselves. All three Blue Lodge degrees were conferred, nine Scottish Rite degrees were presented, and new candidates were welcomed and recognized as they began their Masonic journey. In total,106 new Master Masons were raised, 125 new Scottish Rite Masons were welcomed into our fraternity, and an impressive 533 Brethren were in attendance.
What made this weekend truly special was how it united so many aspects of Masonic life:
- Fellowship and Brotherhood: Brethren shared meals, laughter, and meaningful conversations.
- Education and Growth: Programs encouraged learning and reflection on how we live our values today.
- Tradition and Celebration: Ritual and ceremony reinforced our timeless lessons while celebrating new Brothers joining the Craft.
At Supreme Council, we applaud the Brethren of Ohio for their vision and dedication. Their Masonic Weekend is a reminder of what’s possible when we blend tradition with creativity and put fellowship at the heart of our work.
Events like this demonstrate how vibrant and meaningful Masonic life can be when we come together with purpose. May Ohio’s example spark fresh ideas across our Jurisdiction—so that more Brethren and families can share in the joy of experiences like these.
