LEXINGTON, Mass. — In an unprecedented display of Masonic unity, the four Supreme Councils of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry have joined together to launch a nationwide fundraising campaign in support of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
The joint initiative brings together the Scottish Rite's Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, Southern Jurisdiction, and the two Prince Hall Scottish Rite Supreme Councils in a shared commitment to support America's fallen first responders, Gold Star families, and catastrophically injured military veterans.
The campaign culminates on September 11, 2026, when the four Supreme Councils will present their combined contribution to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in observance of the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
"This campaign reflects the very best of who we are as Scottish Rite Masons," said Sovereign Grand Commander Walter F. Wheeler. "The courage shown by first responders on September 11—and by the service members and first responders who continue to sacrifice for our nation every day—deserves more than our remembrance. It deserves our action."
Founded in the wake of 9/11, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation honors the legacy of firefighter Stephen Siller by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star families and the families of fallen first responders, while also building specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. Through these programs, the Foundation ensures that those who have sacrificed so much for our nation receive lasting support.
The Scottish Rite, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction has long championed the principles of devotion to country, service to humanity, charity, and brotherly love. By joining together across all four Supreme Councils, this campaign demonstrates those values in action and underscores the Fraternity's commitment to serving others beyond the walls of its Lodges and Valleys.
Scottish Rite members, their families, and friends are invited to participate in this historic effort by making a contribution before September 11, 2026. Every gift will become part of the Scottish Rite's united presentation to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, honoring the memory of those who gave everything and supporting the heroes and families who continue to carry their legacy forward.
